HERTFORDSHIRE COUNSELLOR
Communication and ADHD
Finding your voice in a noisy world...

Communication is something we often take for granted—until it becomes difficult. If you’re living with ADHD, or if someone close to you is, you might find that even simple conversations can feel overwhelming, rushed, misunderstood, or emotionally charged. You may interrupt without meaning to, lose track of conversations, or feel like you’re not being heard. These struggles can ripple into every part of life.

Time can feel slippery or unreliable when you’re living with ADHD. You might find it hard to estimate how long things will take, arrive late even when you care deeply about being on time, or get caught in cycles of procrastination or racing to finish things at the last minute. Sometimes, time just seems to disappear—and that can feed feelings of shame, frustration, or guilt, especially in relationships where others don’t understand how hard you’re trying. This is not a personal failing. It’s a nervous system trying its best. It’s a brain wired for a different rhythm.

Whether you have a formal ADHD diagnosis, wonder if it applies to you or someone in your life, or simply find communication and time-keeping overwhelming—I offer a calm, grounded space for ADHD counselling in Hertfordshire.

In our work together, I offer a supportive environment where, using a Person-Centred Experiential (PCE) and client-focused approach, we begin with what you’re experiencing in your day-to-day life. You are the expert on your life, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you begin to notice, name, and understand the patterns that shape your days.

Many people seeking support who are affected by ADHD struggle with emotional regulation, working memory, or time management. These challenges can make it harder to communicate clearly, feel understood in relationships, or keep up with daily demands. Over time, this can lead to burnout, self-criticism, or withdrawal. I work to provide a space where there’s no pressure to mask or push through – just time to pause, reflect, and be heard just as you are.
I offer counselling and support that focuses on your unique experience with time, communication, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. Together, we make sense of what’s happening - not to judge or fix, but to deepen understanding and offer you new ways of relating to yourself.

From this place, you may begin to feel more choice, more connection, and more self-compassion. This work is about discovering what supports you, and finding ways to express yourself that feel honest, safe, and grounded in who you are.
